Marlynn’s Energy Impact Story- 2021

As we visit with Marlynn, a Marshallese resident in the City of Dubuque, we quickly learn how energy plays a role in her life. From not having appropriate ventilation throughout her home, to mold building up due to sealed windows, Marlynn shares how the negative impact of an un-efficient home challenges her daily.

We believe stories such as Marlynn need to be told as we build a case to protect Iowan’s ratepayers. Without protections for energy efficiency and transparency of electric usage, we will continue to find Iowans making difficult decisions- which impact our community as a whole.

Your Dubuque County Energy District appreciates the time Marlynn gave to present this story, our funding through the ReAmp network to make this possible, and our partners with the Clean Energy Districts of Iowa to engage communities in an equitable transition to 100% clean and renewable energy sources.
